a friend of mine recently bought an early 2011 i5 macbook pro 13"
but has a few dents on the body
would it be possible to move the 2011's internals to her old A1278 mid 2012's body without running into hardware issues?
her old 2012's body is in pristine condition, just that, the logic board is dead and is too expensive to have it replaced vs buying a 2nd hand unit

If both have an i core processor you probably won't have problems. If it has a core 2 duo logic board the logic board mounts may be positioned differently.

yep the working model has a 2nd gen i5, the broken one has a 3rd gen i5,,
i guess ill find out this weekend! fingers crossed!
If they're both A1278s you should have no problems if you follow the logic board guide and do it all at one sitting. Take reference pictures if your not familiar with ing this type of thing. Good screw organization really helps. Remember to replace the thermal paste and clean the fan vents. Have fun ;-)
