iPhone 6 Water Damage -- Home Button Stuck
The problem is with the home button; the button itself doesn't work but acts like its being perpetually pressed. It sustained some water damage 2.5 weeks ago, was turned off/in rice for a week, and was sort of working until last night, when it started acting up again. Will not stay "locked", closes out of apps, goes into the "multitasking" view, and screenshots when I try to lock it or turn it off.
A college kid known on campus for fixing phones said he can replace the home button for me, but didn't say anything about being able to fix circuitry related problems.
Not sure if I should let him take a shot at it (and risk losing the Apple warranty if it needs more than just a home button swap) or get a replacement at Apple for $299.
