Display playing up after digitiser change

We changed a glass digitiser for an S5. Few weeks later customer contacts us and says there are lines on the display and it goes spotty when the phone heats up.

I've explained this could've been from the LCD which is getting progressively worse from the break and not necessarily a Warranty issue.

He says it was working fine before we fixed it. I say it was working after we fixed it and for a few weeks after, so anything could've happened. Any advice on this would be appreciated thanks

If you didn't note any issues with LCD before the repair and there is nothing to indicate that the phone has subsequently damaged in any way by the user then considering the fact that the LCD could well be damaged when replacing the digitiser you should probably honour it as a warranty. Assuming it is still within the warranty period of course. If you were concern about the condition of the LCD or couldn't verify its functionality prior to the repair then you would need to inform the customer that it would not be covered under any warranty provided with the repair.

Thanks it makes sense. But when we repaired and gave back, it was working fine with no LCD damage. The customer had the phone for 2 weeks in working order before coming back with the problem. If the damage was done by me during repair, would it not show straight away?

You may've caused some kind of damage the effects of which have only shown up after some use (I can't comment on the specifics as I don't do digi only repairs myself) or it may be the damage had nothing to do with your repair but unless you have some evidence of that (i.e previously noted damage on the LCD prior to repair or damage indicating the phone has been maltreated post repair) then the customer has a pretty strong case for the warranty.
