1, Try turning the key and moving the shift from park to drive and back. Then try starting it again!
2. Try your spare key in case the chip has failed in your primary key.
3. If you get it started, go to an Auto Zone and get a computer read out to see if it will tell you what the issue is.
UPDATE 6/20/29
Use the trunk to first lock the driver door then unlock it.

The shift from park to drive back to park worked!!!
This diagnosis worked out for my 2002 expedition as well as my girls 2010 expedition also!! Hopefully some else can benefit from this information in the future, thanks!!!
Do you start it while you shift at the same time or do you shift first and then started or do you started then shift so what is it what's the combo
Shifting from park to drive worked for me! Saved me!
Some anti-theft lights blink by default ( a small red light near the dash, for example is there to warn off thieves ). If this is some other type of light then disconnect your battery (negative first then positive) for 30 minutes and reconnect in reverse order (positive then negative). This should reset the computer. You will loose presets in your radio.

Mine does the same thing. I just hit the "unlock" button on my keychain remote and it starts right up.

Turn your key on and let it on unhook your battery for 20 minutes then with the key still on hook your battery back up.should fix your anti theft light.

How does the key unhook your battery ive always had to use a socket or wrench
Try unhooking the positive battery cable with the switch on.Let unhooked for 15 minutes.Than hook cable back up with the key still on.than shut off and try to start.It worked on my f150.

I use Ford fiesta but used different key to start after but couldn't start then we used the original key the red light comes on but the car doesn't start

I have a 1999 Ford expedition the Anti-Theft light is on blinking rapidly and it won't start I bought a new battery it still won't start I'm stuck I also went and bought new keys with new chips I haven't installed them with the new tumbler I'm thinking maybe I could fix it without doing all this cuz the chip is not in my key when I bought the expedition so I'm assuming the key is under the loop the lock loop under in where the ignition switch is but I don't know I don't know I need help to start my car

Unhook your positive cable with the key on for 30 minutes.then hook your cable back up with the key still on.that should take care of the light

2010 ford egde “anti theft falshing fast" door ajar light stays on. Check wires under e brake pedal. Left foot wore threw 7 wires cut em clean. Reconnected wires protected with a pc of carpet rolled around the bundle of wires after. Fixed my problems

I have 2001 f150.I had the windshield resealed and then did a reset .I turn the key on and unhooked the positive battery cable for 30 minutes with the key still on I hooked the cable back up.took care of my anti-theft light.starts right up now.

Try turning your key on and unhooked the positive battery cable for 15 minutes and hook your positive battery cable back up with the key still on.
First off the time that the battery is disconnected keeps getting shirter by 5 mins secondly its a pats security system issue just turn the key to the on position for about ten mins your problem should go away
I had the same problem..I tried every one of these other methods with no luck. Took me a month to figure it out and luckily I could still start my vehicle and bypass using ignition key by touching something long and metal, e.g. A screwdriver, to these 2 bolts under the hood and start it that way but what a pain everytime I needed to start it.. I finally found this answer in an old forum somehwere and it worked!
Answer: Anti theft system had been activated, you need to push the 7/8 9/0 keypad buttons at the same time then enter the unlock code to disable the system. Sometimes this can also work by using the door key to first lock the drivers door then unlock it.

I had an 01 expedition with anti-theft light blinking and took it to dealer to reset. I was told fuel pump was bad. Anti-theft shuts down the fuel pump so they're idiots. Transponder in on the ignition switch was not reading chip in key so I dug the chip out of the key and removed transponder from ignition and taped the chip to the transponder and stuck it up under the dash out of the way. No problem since.

Losing my kitty but had my check placing lunch with me with transponder around the ignition cylinder on cell phone I was going down the road one day and my explorer just shut off it would fire right back up but then shut right back down got it hauled home and started going over one thing at a time first name I replaced with the terminals after I'm hooking the battery for about 30 minutes and then letting them touch to remove all charge from lines so it didn't hold code and the %#*@ thing fired right up, got going and the road toward a friend's house it shut off on me again fire up but was missing real bad and you shut down I managed to make it up the hill to my buddies house and now I sent the driveway for about 2 and 1/2 hours messing with the emissions... Tore dash apart and pulled off sensors down to the crankshaft sensor master air sensor clean made sure there was no broke wires behind dash thn turned ignition to on pos.for 15 mins. back to the AC pos.15mins Thn off pos 15mins crank right up no prob.

Close the doors and lock them then take your key put it in the driver door now lock, lock, unlock. And your theft system should be reset and off now you can crank it up

That will turn off the theft sensor Will it work for a 99 expedition
Turn the key on and off on an airplane off repeatedly until you hear your doors locking unlock that's resetting your transmitter key so that it tells your computer that it is the right key and okay to crank .. once he is set on the way in programmed the theft light should go off allowing fuel pump to work in your vehicle to crank... If that's not the problem and that fights the one check fuse inside and relay under hood
Mine did this as well come to find out it was cuz the security chip in the key was damaged so the vehicle thought it was stolen when I tried to start it. Got a replacement key and my vehicle started right up.

I'm having problem now where it's after eating my ship which is out of my key and trying to find the right spot again and getting it to try to read chip again I busted my check which had liquid in it does this mean it will not read that chip??

Ìn my case fuse #30 in the interior fuse box is antitheft and pcm fuse pull it for 20 seconds replace no light engine starts

Use your key to lock and unlock your door locks from outside. Cycle them back and forth all the way. You cannot remove it.

Okay Team So I have a 99 Ford explorer XLT and I lost my key but still had chip(transmitter) put it with transponder and I was good to go... Noticed my power windows gradually stopped working and then my chip became harder to read until it stopped reading chip all together ( let me just add that I replaced my ignition already once, purchased at your local auto parts store ignition with transmitter, Thn lost my %#*@ key again and had to bust out ignition AGAIN) to finish setting my key to computer all inside was turn key to one position and then to off position, repeating the steps on and off until your doors lock and unlock. Boom key ready to go. Let me hop back to the beginning, I was using a flat head screw driver, putting it in up in where the ignition cylinder would go lining up with this gear inside that I turn with if I hit screwdriver which shoots a rod down through steering column I pranking the vehicle.. but by using the fattest screwdriver I have broken off the teeth to this gear inside connect to
