Please see the attached photo. I'm assuming you're talking about the A1181. If you look at the photo, there is a small power symbol (the half-circle with the vertical line) just below the fan, and the jumper pads are right below it. Touch these two pads with the same piece of metal, and it should be the equivalent of pressing the power button. This particular one is a 2.4GHZ model, and I believe this configuration on other speeds looks slightly different, or even doesn't exist on some models.

Anyway, I hope that helps!

John

There are no A1180 machines.

There are 17 machines that carry the A1181 designation: http://www.everymac.com/ultimate-mac-loo...

Please give us the last three letters of your serial number and we can tell you.

Thanks I found it on both mac book a1181's I own and as I suspected I need a new keyboard and top case anyone have one for sale or trade (I will only be salvaging one of my a1181 MacBook4,1 in tell core duo2.1 GHz (last three of serial 0P0). The other earlier A1181 MacBook, which in many ways has been the better computer, last 3 of serial "U9B" is open for parts for trade or cash including battery "White 3000-349mAh/ Good" and charger (in great condition bought new less than 1 yr ago). the earlier mac is one without the power sign, I was however able to find the two pawer pads still (after knowing were they were in my other mac they are a cm or two to the left and are turned 90 degrees (one stacked onto the other , instead of sisde by side). RDKLINC thank you very much for the photo it was a life saver.
