How do I fix a DVD Drive that won't open?
My DVD Drive is stuck and it will not open not matter how many times I press the button.

Is there a disk in it? It could be jamming the tray preventing it from opening all the way. Jiggle the tray in and out slightly and lightly with your hand to try and dislodge it. If all that doesn’t work you well just have to apply a little more force. You have been correct to be cautious.

There is a small hole to the right of the DVD drive eject button. To force the drive open, stick a paperclip into the hole and the drive should pop out.

dvd only partially opens (maybe 1/4") no more. Have tried the "paperclip" trick but it doesn't help. My computer is a Toshiba Satellite Laptop
