1 Why won't it turn on?
I plug the controller in to my PC or Xbox and it won't turn on, Any help is appreciated

I know i am a little late here, but i ran into a similar problem. For me, my controller would flicker on but then turn off and even if it did turn on i could not use it. I fixed it by, plugging it into the xbox one, turning off the xbox one and unplugging it. I then rebooted the xbox one and the controller worked.

I have rebooted my xbox multiple time and still get the same results
Majority of the time it's the USB port on the controller. These devices are plug and play. If this fixed your issue I'd imagine it's a rare issue. It's not like a wireless controller that needs to re-sync after using it on another console.
This is what’this is a problem I have a lot with these controllers idk why but I have bought three different pdp afterglows and it still does this I think it might be the cord but I tried new cords and it still will not work help would be nice
I have the same problem and I used multiple cords and I dont bash the controller

the controller is not the problem, i found thats its more of the cord that ends up breaks before the end first. so i recommend trying a new cord to see if that helps.

This can happen too. I do have cords that have bad connections as well. Swap cords with a known good one and see if it works.
Same problem found it would flicker on and off once plugged in and if I pressed the Xbox home button it would turn on but I wouldn’t be able to use it noticed that the white light above the home button wasn’t on I tried a couple of the other suggestions here and found no luck but I think it’s probably to do with the age of mine I’ve had it for years but more practically i found my cable to be pretty stressed at the usb end I’ve only bent the cable in the other direction and it works fine but can only imagine that’s a temporary fix and I’ll eventually need to buy a new cable or find a replacement

The USB connector on the controller is damaged. If you have the tools and ability to do so, unsolder the connector and solder on a new one.

Have you tried a different USB port? I had a problem with my PDP controller randomly turning the xbox on.. Then would not turn on itself. Turned out to be a USB port problem.

Mine just randomly cut off last night when I was playing on my Xbox one and it hasn't came back on tried to plug it in to another port did work
yea but what if the controller need a special usb cord??
yes I have tried the back of the xbox one usb. And the side. also reset it... my afterglow is brand new also fresh out the box and this happened
I just unplug it and plug it back in.

I popped open the back and dragged around a wire on the main board and it turned on. I think it might have a issue with turning on by itself. -this voids your warranty.

I finally found out the answer!!
My controller stopped working after my headphone jack quit out, I would turn on with the white bar but wouldn’t respond, I ended up taking it apart and noticed that the headphone jack was bent after bending it back the controller worked just as good as new. Hopefully this helps :)

I disconnected the cable from the controller and hard resetted (hold the power button until the Xbox light stops flashing on the console, or until the power brick turns from white to orange) the xbox. I waited about 10 seconds and plugged it back up, and it works again. I hope this helps someone. This was for a problem for the led lights working but the white light wouldn't appear and the controller itself was unresponsive.

I found the issue that helped me fix my controller the black button that's under the power button on your Xbox. you need to hit that while your controller is unplugged and plugged it back up should change color and work again

my PDP afterglow stopped working last night, the leds work but the light above the power button doesn't turn on but when I plug it into my brothers Xbox it works but for some reason it completely doesn't work on my xbox, it randomly cut out mid match while I was playing bfv

Controller is $@$*. Had it maybe one month, worked fine until today. Mid match lights shut off and all buttons register left on dpad. Rebooted Xbox, performed reset steps,changed usb plug and port. Controller won’t power up or function. Only the small white light above the Xbox button illuminates. Anyone have this issue? My guess is it’s done. Get what I pay for I guess. Pos
