iPhone 5s boot loop and red screen

Hi everyone, i have a iphone 5s dropped in the water, i just took water in the bottom of the motherboard (battery).

It is constantly boot loop and sometimes appears red screen.

I opened it and removed all of the existing shields and removed all the ultrasound bath.

I tried disconnecting the camera, changing charging connector, and more.

I connected the power supply to the counter and me by an absorption of 0, 30 amperes.

What could it be ?

I thought u2 or nand.

The lcd screws have not been reversed

I don't recommend shaking your phone or leaving the water to air dry. This standing water, even a very thin film, will corrode the connection points on the logic board. Once evaporated, it will leave mineral or other deposits that could short the logic board. The longer you let it sit, the more damage it can do.

  • Open your phone and remove the logic board (follow this guide)
  • Inspect the logic board, especially around the connectors and look for corrosion.
  • Inspect both sides of the board. Unfortunately, 80% of the board is covered in shields. That's usually where the damage is occurring.
  • Put your board in a container with >90% isopropyl alcohol and let it sit for a while.
  • Use a soft brush, like a toothbrush and lightly brush away any corrosion you see.
  • Rinse in alcohol and repeat.
  • Let it air dry for a day.
  • Re-assemble and hope for the best.

You should also consider getting a new battery if it has swollen. Resist the temptation to pop it to let the gas out. A compromised Li-ion battery is a fire hazard. If the device appears to power up but behaves erratically, then use a tool like 3uTools to flash the firmware as it may be corrupted.

A professional repair shop that does water damage repair may be able to recover your phone or the data because they have access to pro-level ultrasonic baths and specialized cleaners as well as the skills to troubleshoot your board. Many shops have a no fix/no fee policy so you don't have to spend money to find out if the phone is fixable or not.

I did everything you wrote without having any results.

By connecting the board to the power supply I have an absorption of 0.30 amperes .

Manfry, you've asked water damage questions before and the answer is always the same...it can be anything.

Look to see where the water damaged is most present and start there. If the damage is localized, you may get lucky. Otherwise, start by checking the main voltage rails (VCC_MAIN, BATT_VCC) and then check the rails generated by the PMIC (U7). Look for shorts on those lines to help you understand what is wrong.

So start probing and get to me with what you found.

Here is generic guide for water damage repair hope this can help.

Quickly take out your device from water.

Power off /shut down your device and remove battery.

Dis assemble device if you can or if you have little skill then just remove back cover.

Now hold the device firmly as it is wet and then shake and jerk the device so that liquid can come out of your device.

Don’t use hair drier as it can heat up and can melt soldering.

Now put your device at some place for 24 to 48 hours to completely dried out. And if water is entered inside logic board then wait for 72 hours to completely dried out. And you don’t want to wait for such long time then dis assemble the device completely and rub entire logic board with soft cotton or brush and use alcohole or propelyne or any logic board circuit cleaner advisable for electronics component. This can remove any corrosion on circuit board.

Now assemble the device and power on it.
