I have an 2001 Ford F150 XLT with the extended cab, not the model with full size rear doors, but the smaller half door. Both of the door mechanisms don't work anymore. I would like to fix them but don't want to pay what the dealer is asking for the replacements ($165 +/-). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Dan Bernasconi, You will have to disassemble the doors(remove trim panels) and see if cables are broke/stretched, check and lubricate latch mechanism's liberally. Dan Bernasconi what door mechanisms are you looking for? Power door lock actuators?

It's the Jump seat doors in the back (I have a XLT Supercab). Both mechanisms don't open the doors anymore. But I think I found a solution and the parts to fix it from Amazon. I was watching a Video on YouTube about them and actually, it's been a few years since they actually stopped working. Back then I looked into the parts from the dealer and they were cost prohibitive. So I may try to order the repair parts and fix it... I'll let you know when I do....
