Why won't it turn when I push 'Play'?

Hello,

I tried to use my old Philips skyrunner again, but as soon as I hit 'Play' goes down, but it doesn't do anything. The batteries seem to work and the motors as well, because if I use 'Cue' it works and it works reversed as well.

Please help.
