Why is the screen not lighting up or showing anything?

The screen will not light up or show anything but the keyboard will work to call people, when I call someone it has to be on speaker in order to hear them.

It sounds to me that you have some loose/faulty cables inside your phone, specifically the cables for your screen, and for your speaker.
