iPhone 6 Screen starts flickering hours after battery replacement

Hello,

So I replaced my iPhone 6 battery earlier this morning and everything was working dandy, battery life was great and no problems doing the repair itself. Later this evening I start getting this weird flickering of the backlight on my screen. I tried reinstalling the battery and playing around with the brightness, rebooting the phone, etc. Nothing is making it go away. Also, the battery seems to be draining faster than usual too. Why would this start happening hours after the replacement.

P.S. I did not disconnect the display from the back casing, ribbon and cable were still connected while doing the battery swap.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

I should also add that what seemed to initially trigger it was me clicking on the iCloud app, the screen then went weird and unresponsive and I rebooted and the screen has been flickering since

Good day!

I think you should perform some further basic troubleshooting:

- Try to use the old battery and check if the issue is gone then

- Although you didn't touched the LCD connectors during the battery replacement please remove all of them and reseat the connectors to the board

Power off the phone and reconnect the battery and screen connectors to have a try.

Here is another option to check.

When replacing the battery, if the adhesive battery tape snaps off whilst being pulled out, the iTech may use alcohol to release the tape. If the screen is still connected, the alcohol may seep under the screen connectors. Although most of the alcohol will evaporate, the alcohol under the screen connectors will take longer to disappear. This will cause the screen to flicker and may even damage the circuit board as the alcohol is causing mini shorts.

Remove the screen connectors to ensure there is no alcohol underneath them. Additionally when using alcohol to dislodge the battery adhesive tape, dip the card / tool in to the alcohol as apposed to squirting alcohol in to the phone or under the battery.

This would explain why switching the phone on and off several times may cause the issue to go away as the alcohol evaporates.

May sound silly, but just use it like that for a while. After time, it will most likely go away. That’s what I found
