"Camera Failed" Software or Hardware issue?

For some reason my front facing camera wont work. Whenever i open it the message "Camera failed" will pop up and close the app. I have not dropped my phone before. And i have tried every solution i could find on the internet to resolve it myself yet the problem is still there. I dont know if its a soft or hardware issue. Just last week all of a sudden it was working everything was fine was able to take some pictures with the front facing camera and now again all of a suddenly it stopped working again. Could somebody identify for me if its soft or hardware issue.
