Hi.
I tried to search for a new SSD for my Mac.
This is a MF840H/A A1502
I'm thinking about to buy a 1TB, or 512.
Does any of you have a item number/part number to ease the search?
I believe there is no use to check regular SSD?

Your do have a few choices some more expensive than others! If you want to stick with an Apple drive you'll need to search Amazon & eBay for a salvaged unit or a liberated back door unit which may not be good. These are often over priced and often the smaller sizes!
The next choice is either a 3rd party SSD from either OWC or more recently Transcend

The 3rd party disk was expensive, but i'll give it a try.
Do you know which eBay-apple disk that is correct to my Macbook? I see there is some selling 1 TB disk, but is this from an Apple system?
And, do you know if there is any other macbook pro/air that uses the same disk?
I don't use Amazon or eBay for my drives as it's risky and I don't have the time to battle it out with the different players there. I maybe jaded a bit as I've been burnt to many times.
Apple does use the same SSD across a few different systems. The trick is to know what the interface your system has and what the source system is. So here is the key:
- Apple uses two different PCIe versions 2.0 & 3.0.
- Each offers either a two lane or four lane interface (x2 & x4).
- Apple uses different OS drivers between the different PCIe versions so you can't upgrade between the versions.
- In some models you can't leverage the wider lanes while others you can. You can always use the narrower lane drive in the wider based system.
- Older blade SSD's are not compatible in the newer PCIe based systems.

You'll need to review the OWC or Transcend web site for your given model (if you have both a 13" & 15"). Some models use a different SSD drive so I can't give you a firm answer here as it's dependent on what you have for your other system.
My answer was focused on what you listed as your system. The subsequent comment I made on the different SSD's applies across the different models which have PCIe SSD's.

I was thinking about if the disks are similar in the 15’ machines with the ones you find in the 13’
I’ve got an early 2015 13’.
Just trying to find all possibilities.

There are SSD adapters that allow you to use standard M.2 NGFF PCI-E. I have not used one but that could be an option.
Saw a few on amazon.

Sorry not an option in this series. Only the older mSATA models did this work and it still wasn't very good.
We checked a few out and found them dropping data blocks (CRC) which can be dangerous from a data integrity perspective.
Stick with the real Apple blades or the two 3rd party products I listed.
