Parts missing after repair

Hello there.

I have had a phone water damage problem which I had solved until my phone started asking for shutdown automatically and would take random pictures all the time.

Since it is quite old I undertook total dismantling and cleaning myself, using alcohol, which ended up fixing the problem but also making a blot on my LCD screen. I also lost a couple of screws (three) in the process and I have been kind of rough because I didn't have the required equipment.

I intend to buy a new phone, but since I will have to wait a while, I was wondering how long you think it can hold up and if it presents any danger in using it. I don't think I've actually done any damage to the components, but the missing screws and the one or two crunches I have heard during repair are what's stressing me out, so any feedback is welcome :)!

Colin Prudhomme that will depend on where those screws are missing from. You want to make sure that the logicboard is tight and nothing will move around and shorten out. If the screws are from any of the connectors it is conceivable that the connectors work themselves loose and come of. None of that will cause any danger but could prevent your phone from working properly. The "crunches" sound you hear could come from anything. You will know if there is something that does not work, that this is where the crunches originated from. Again, only time will tell.

Thank you very much! The missing scews are from a small piece on the far right connecting to the headphone jack, and I also have one connecting the battery to the logic board, but the pin there holds in place quite well. I guess we shall see!

There's no danger in using it, the voltages etc inside are low, the only dangerous part is the battery if you go and stab it with a screwdriver when fully charged.
