MacBook Pro Power Brick Not Charging Anymore

It seems my charge cable is no longer charging my Macbook Pro (Late 2013, 15"). I know the Macbook Pro's port is fine, because my Thunderbolt Display's charge cable still charges it. So it's either the cable's end that's bad, or something with the brick, or maybe a kink in the cable. I know the wall plug is not the issue, because I swapped it for the power adapter that connects directly to the brick, and it still didn't charge. Any ideas what I can do to fix it, or cheap replacement options? I prefer not to buy a new one, since new ones go up to $99 Canadian.

@kadan I can't find a listing for the Mag-Safe adapter.

@mayer - Here's the run down of the MacBook Pro's MagSafe units: Find the right power adapter and cable for your Mac notebook And here's the Apple online Store page with them: Power & Cables

@danj He was talking about costs and I hoped that iFixit might have a used one as I do not recommend the cheap knock offs. Hopefully at the Canadian iFixit store.

I don't recommend trying to fix your MagSafe charger. While some have managed to do it the risk to your system with an improperly wired charger could damage it which in the long haul would be more expensive to fix if it can be.

You also need to worry about fake units that are now more prevalent. These could also damage your system and some can even be a fire hazard! Lacking safety features, cheap MacBook chargers create big sparks

Believe me I don't want to pay Apple unnecessarily, but sometimes being penny-wise, pound-foolish is just not being smart.

I would just go to your local Apple Store and buy the correct one.

Two thoughts:

A) The MacBook Pro and/or power brick over-heated. This turns them off, much like a circuit breaker. Let them cool, then try again. This worked for me with the same model MBP.

B) Get a new power brick at Other World Computing:

~US $50 ea. Be certain to get the right one for your MBP model! In your specific case, you want an 85W MagSafe 2 Power Adapter. US $55, one year guarantee:
