Why won't my BLU Life XL power on?

I have a BLU Life XL and it was sitting off for about a year(the phone worked great before).I tried to power it on but it didn't turn on. I bought a brand new battery for it but it still won't power on. No matter how long I charge it. PLEASE answer my question! THANK YOU!!!
