Descaling or cleaning product for Starbucks Barista

I went into Starbucks and they gave me a packet called URNEX, Urn and Brewer cleaner. Is this a good one to use for this machine?

Update

Thank you so much, glad I didn't use that. I found one at a store called Durgol. They recommended highly. I haven't tried it yet. Is this okay to use?

That product is designed to clean drip coffee makers and carafes; to descale the inside of the Barista boiler you need a citric acid based product such as Dezcal (also made by Urnex).

Step 1

Dissolve the cleaner in 1 cup of warm water. Pour the solution into the water tank of your espresso maker. Alternatively, pour the lemon juice into the tank. Add additional filtered water until the tank is full.

Step 2

Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw on the brew head (where the espresso comes out). Remove the screen from the brew head.

Step 3

Place a coffee cup under the brew head. Place a coffee cup under the steamer wand of your machine.

Step 4

Turn on the machine. Following your particular machine's directions, brew one cup of cleaner through the brew head and brew (not steam) another cup through the steam wand. Dump the brewed cleaner solution down the sink. Turn off the power and wait 30 minutes.

Step 5

Run any remaining cleaner solution in the tank through the brew head and steamer wand (alternate between the two equally). Dump this brewed solution down the sink. Remove the machine's water tank and rinse it thoroughly. Put the tank back into the machine.

Step 6

Fill the tank with filtered water. Brew the water through the brew head and steam wand (alternate between the two equally). Dump the brewed water down the sink. Repeat this with clean filtered water three or four times. Allow the machine to cool.

Step 7

Replace the brew head screen. The smooth side faces downward.

Can I use Saeco espresso machine descaler? I have not been able to find the other products.

This is a terrible answer. What cleaner?? What kind? There are several kinds of espresso machine cleaner. Lemon juice? How much? What kind? bottled or fresh? Terribly written article.

DEFINITELY DON'T USE LEMON JUICE. My Barista manual recommends a product designed for the machines, a citric acid, OR pulp-free lemon juice. I used bottled lemon juice, and before I could finish the descaling process, the machine kicked out the GFI switch on any outlet I plugged it into (and still continues to a day and a half later). One of the questions on this site addressed that problem--I followed all the suggestions, but the machine is damaged.

I have got this before and it generally cleans ALL COFFEE MACHINES NOT JUST DRIP INCLUDING KURIEG AND KNOCK-OFF KURIEGS AND ESPRESSO MAKERS. It is basically Food Grade Citric Acid. I live in Wisconsin where the hardness scale is a 9 and it is because of all the limestone which creates good artisinal well and Springwater but is absolutely devastating on everything. I have used it to clean my kurieg with tis before. All you have to do is add it to the reservoir and brew hot water and re rinse and repeat. It takes anywhere from 25 to 45 minutes.
