The clear dial inside an inkjet printer that is stuck onto the gears

I need to know how to the install the clear dial with numbers that has fine lines on it that gets read by a red light on the inside of an inkjet printer that is stuck onto the gears that is attached to the paper feeder.. i somehow knocked the one on my printer off and when i turn it on the cartridges slam back and forth and it almost breaks itself its so violent.
