This accessory is not supported by this iPhone? after reassembling

Completely dis assembled this Iphone 3gs, re assembled, tested all other features. Only problem i am coming upon is this message about not compatible accessory.Ive double check all cables, connections, etc. It will only play music through the headphones but will play notifications through the speaker so both work. It some how is registering a accessory without one being there, which is interfering with music being played though speaker. Any help?

try cleaning the dock connection/usb port with a soft brush to remove lint and dirt-often builds up here from putting your iphone in your pocket, stops devices recognising your iphone. Try this before you decide to replace SYSTEM connection???

I've come across that before, change the SYSTEM connector and it should resolve the issue. :)

I know this is an old thread, but, just in case somebody is having this problem today and is searching for any answers, my 3GS had this problem but no more. Basically I narrowed it down to the electrical outlet being used. I didn't believe it at first but after trying different outlets in my house the same thing happened. So try different outlets. I suspect some outlets have more electrical noise than others thus confusing the IPhone. Even try an outlet at somebody elses house.
