Phone is hot while on active mode or playing games. Battery drain fast

my iPhone 5 heat up faster while playing game, or while active( on apps ). Why?

Also, Battery drain faster when active. it shouldn't be right? the last time I change was or 4 years ago. Started to use iPhone 5(Back up phone) because my iPhone 6 is a total lost.

Check your battery health either by using 3u tools on windows or coconut battery on Mac which you can both download.

If the battery health reading is below 80% then you should consider replacing the battery.

Also restoring your phone may help. Make sure you do an iTunes backup beforehand as it wipes data on the phone.

iPhone batteries are only good for 2-3 years on average anyway.

What operating system are you running? Anything new than 10 will likely tax your phone's hardware much more than previous OS's would. It running hot while playing games is likely just the hardware having to run harder, especially if the games are newer. The battery drain is tied in with hardware that is running harder. As far as solutions go, I would recommend maybe closing everything else out while you play those games to reduce background usage. It could be time for an upgrade though.

Other battery saving tips: turn off bluetooth, remove location permissions from apps that have always use location enabled, turn off WiFi (if it is not needed for what you are doing), turn down the screen brightness. those are just a few. apple has a whole page dedicated to this. https://www.apple.com/batteries/maximizi...

Any chance of Upgrading the RAM and Space for iPhone 5?

Unfortunately no, those are BGA chips soldered to the board. More trouble than it's worth.
