Put in a 3rd party battery, no longer charges?
My original apple battery swelled and stopped working. I replaced it with a 3rd party battery I bought off ifixit. Immediately though the battery stopped taking a charge and I had difficulty getting the laptop to turn on even when the power cord is connected. From my limited reading this may be an issue with the logic board and 3rd party batteries? Do i need to replace the logic board now as well as the battery? Can I just get a new battery?

Lets first check things download this app CoconutBattery then take a snapshot of the main window so we can see what its telling us. Also give us a snap of the battery data.

I just put in a brand new iFixit battery, too. 1 cycle, 100 days old. Coconut shows all of the battery info, menu bar shows the battery logo with the lightning bolt but battery is not charging. MBP will only fire up when connected to power. Swapped back to original battery (over 650 cycles). Boots, charges no problem. Is there some sort of software/hardware that prevents 3rd party batteries? It seems not everyone has this problem. (FYI: was on Catalina, downgraded to Mojave, same symptoms)
