Why does my laptop screen doesn't function correctly?!

I replaced my laptop battery, cause it was damaged then after it I tried to open my laptop, It works so I turned it off then I keep it for just a day then, when I tried to turn it on, the screen were black out, but the yellow dot which reminds that the laptop was open is keep on blinking, I turn off my laptop again using the button, But the yellow light are keep on, it doesn't want to off .What's the problem? Is the replacing of battery affect my laptop? Or there's other problem besides of the battery?
