i am facing a kind of a weird problem, i have a core 2 duo macbook with silver cable top case and i need to install an old top case with the brown cable on it but i dont know how as the connectors do not fit on the mother board, anyone knows how to do this? or if this is even possible? can I change take the cable from the old keyboard and put it in the new one?
your help is highly appreciated.

The connectors on all MacBook top case cables should be interchangeable - are you sure neither of yours are damaged?

Both cables are not damaged, but how can I interchange them while the printed board is different on each topcase? is there any guide or steps for this procedure? thank you!

Hi, as Solin said the top cover cable for Macbook pros should be interchangeable (not so on the unibodies). You can reuse your original cable and it should be fine (just as long as you have not broken the ends or have creased any parts of that cable. If you need one you should be able to find one on ebay.
I assume that you're talking about a Macbook Pro laptop. Now you cannot use a unibody top case cable on a non unibody Macbook Pro. Apple have changed the Macbook Pro top case cable (which connects to the logic board) for the earlier Macbook Pros electrically, however as long as it fits the present connector on the logic board then it should be fine.
To further eliminate any confusion about this you should supply us with the information i.e., is it a 2.16 or a 2.33 processor and what year was it made in 2006, 07 or 08?

Well, only MacBook top case connectors are interchangeable. That's not the case with the MacBook Pros, which Apple changed several times.

The brown and silver cables are different and you should get a top case that accepts the same kind of cable as your computer uses.
