Basically it keeps turning down by itself and don't let me do anything for 20 minutes it is a old tv but it shouldn't be doing I don't think I tried taking my batteries out my control to see if it was that nope it is defilenty the tv

@abbeyjones if by turning down you mean the volume turning down then you need check the audio board. If the menu shows like it will when you use the remote and shows the decrease on the screen it is most likely a faulty IR board. If it does not but loses volume a bad audio IC could do that. Of course you also want to try an external speaker sound bar etc. to make sure that this is not caused by a bad speaker.(unlikely). We need to know the exact model number for your TV so we can try to continue to help you with this.

My advice would be to check the buttons and make sure they aren't clogged. Both on the back of the tv and on your remote.

I have the same issue with my sony bravia and i went as far as change the motherboard and i the same issue..what i did was to disconnect the ribbon or menu buttons on the physical tv itself and it work.. no volume fluctuation or automatic demo mode..

My sanyo goes down by itself. My brother has a sanyo that goes up by itself. Went to sanyo qebsitw and starts out with cut this wire connect it to this wire bla bla bla. Is there an American ade brand anymore????
