Help, phone won't turn on after daughterboard replacement

Hi all. So my Pixel XL had the well-chronicled microphone not working/no vibration combination that had become problematic enough I decided to swap out the daughterboard. I'd never opened a phone sealed with adhesive (previous phone repairs had clips) and while removing the screen worked the tool too deep and damaged the digitizer ribbon cable/cracked the screen. I ordered a new digitizer/screen assembly, replaced the daughterboard and screen and tried to fire up the phone but no luck.

Upon pressing the power button the phone makes the faint vibration sound it should when turning it on but there is no display and the phone doesn't appear to begin booting or anything (reminds me of starting a computer when the cpu's improperly seated). I realize this is difficult without seeing the phone but where should I start? I've already reseated all the connections I unplugged during the repair more than once. Thanks in advance for any help!

Having the exact same issue. I replaced my daughterboard after a faulty charger likely fried it. In the middle of doing that I cracked the screen. I have the same symptoms as you, vibrates on power up but no display. Did you ever fix it?

I found the answer here:

Won't turn on after screen replacement

Quote:

I had the same problem and was about to scrap the replacement screen but first I tried disconnecting the battery connection again and holding the power button down for twenty second. When I reattached the battery and held down the power button it fired right up. Funny thing was that the old screen would work without the whole process of disconnecting the battery when I reconnected it in an effort to see if the new screen was faulty. This may just be something to do with the seven plus since this has never happened on other models.

Sounds like the same symptom from when I replaced my display. I just booted up the phone and made sure the ribbon was seated properly and display working before I screwed the bracket down. Was a bit finicky but once I had it seated and mounted it worked fine.
