My laptop wont get out of a black screen with green ok's and white words going all the way down the left side. What is going on? Thx in advance!

Get your phone or camera, point it at the computer screen, start recording a video, then turn the computer on. In this way, you can go back and see what messages flashed across the screen. Post back here what messages flashed on the screen.

@forbes5 when do those things show up? Does your computer boot into the OS? Can you access the BIOS? What OS are you using? Have you tried an external monitor? what have you tried?

I am not computer savvy, so I can't answer some questions like BIOS. I have only tried restarting it by pressing control, alt, delete, and then taking the battery out.
