no spark firing opel kaddet

Hi,

I ve got a 200is kaddet with an import engine code XEV. The car has no spark at all, the following has been changed so far: Crankshaft position sensor, fuel pum relay, ignition coil.

What can cause a no spark condition in these cars? car is doing 300 000km on the clock.

Phelele Mazibuko can you let us know again what year your Opel Kadett is and possibly what engine size? What have you checked so far?

tarafından

Its a 1998 year model, 2litre engine. Distributor less engine.

Changed the following:

Crankshaft sensor, fuel pump relay, ignition coil + leads.

tarafından

You changed those parts because it did not have spark? It still has no spark so none of that made a difference? Ty to scan the ECU and see if you get any codes?

tarafından

Will have it scanned on this comming weekend and let you know the codes.

Can a bad/failed engine knock sensor cause a no spark condition?

'''Phelele Mazibuko'''  until we know exactly the year and model of your vehicle as well as the specific engine (X20XEV?) I’d go ahead and have the Kadett scanned. If you can’t for whatever reason, you can scan the ECU in a backyard mechanic way. It’s a bit lengthy to explain it on here so I attached the manual I have. Read through it and see if it makes sense. Once you know what the code is, let us know. file://C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\Alan\My%20Documents\workin

If your engine cranks normally but will not start because it has no spark it could be caused by:

  • On engines without distributor a bad crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, or broken, loose or corroded wires from the sensor to the PCM.
  • On engines with a distributor possibly a bad ignition module.
  • On engines with a distributor a bad pickup inside the distributor, a stripped distributor drive gear or broken, loose or corroded wires from the pickup to the ignition module.
  • Could be a bad coil on engines with a distributor and a single coil

As you can see without more details it will be difficult to find the right answer.
