Dim screen after screen replacement - iPhone SE

Hi! I am new here and i don't have experience whn it comes to hardware replacement.

So, i recently replaced my iPhone SE screen with an OEM one and after finishing up i noticed that the screen brightness is lower than normal (although in settings it's at 100%). I know it isn't that big of an issue but i would like to fix it anyway.

Here are some pictures where I compared my iPhone with another one that is working normally: https://imgur.com/a/zZC1uIO

Sorry for the bad res. I had nothing else to take the pictures with :S

Where did you order the replacement screen from?

@mikeyd123 I am from Romania and i bought it from an online shop here. I just want to know if it s something easy fixable or it requires some sort of soldering, in wich case i'll take my phone to a service.

Sorry I took a while to get back to you. This is easily fixable. Just order a new replacement screen, the one you have now is most likely defective.

@touretteskey Nah. I want to know if i can fix it as it is. I don't want ti buy a new one as I can use it like this anyway.

I understand, but to be completely honest with you, the LCD is not working properly and a new part is needed. This cannot be fixed as is.

Carol,

I suspect you did not get an OEM quality screen. I've seen low quality screens that are dim, off-color or have odd lines running through them when first replaced.

I recommend purchasing a replacement from iFixit: their screens are some of the best I've purchased.

iFixit sells a screen with everything attached (including a new speaker, etc.). Since you've already replaced the screen yourself you probably don't need the toolkit that comes with the full assembly so you can choose the lower-cost option.

iFixit also offers a replacement part that let's you swap the speaker and a few other tiny parts over (for a few $ less).

Choose the replacement part that matches your comfort level and be sure to follow the instructions here.

Good luck!

Craig
