RED X apple support/iPod?
I have over 3000 songs and over 30 vid/12 movies. Never had a problem with my ipod. Until one day on a fully charged battery while in the middle of a song I changed the song and no sound came out, I changed song again and again no sound. I then hit Menu, playlist to choose a song and all of a sudden a RED X with www.apple.com/support/ipod.
I then went online and followed instructions:
1.Disconnect iPod from your computer.
2.Manually put iPod into Disk Mode as explained in support document 93651.
3.Open the latest version of iTunes and connect iPod.
4.Restore iPod as explained in support document 60983.
However when I was able to get through #2...I followed instructions and then connected ipod back into computer.
Computer then recognized the ipod by pop up window stating "itunes needs to prepare you ipod for recovery, leave your ipod connected"
I do and run the recovery....then it resets the ipod to the APPLE sign and AGAIN shows the RED X and goes no further. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!! This is my lifeline and need it! :)
Also I did try the whole Disk Management via right clicking on Computer management.
