My Ipad Mini 2 won't boot past black apple screen or turn off fully. I have tried hard reset (home button and power) and it just goes black and then has the black apple screen with white apple logo. I also tried connecting it to macbook (itunes won’t launch, and when manually opened won’t recognize ipad). I am using official mac cords and chargers. What else can I do?

Has anything happened to the iPad in the days leading up to this issue; for example, a drop, a repair attempt or contact with water?
The only other thing to try is to restore the iPad but if you don’t have a current backup, you may be reluctant to do this. Otherwise, you need to open up the iPad (check out this guide) and try another battery to see if that will solve the problem or not. Beyond that, you really need to have it looked at as the problem may be at the logic board level.

Install the program “Apple Configurator 2” to your Mac, see if this program will detect your device.
If so, select the device, go to actions, and restore the iPad.
I have had great success for mobile devices and tablets with Apple Configurator 2, while iTunes barely sometimes works.
