The Kindle Fire is infamous for bad charge ports. Does the charge port feel loose or have an excessive amount of play in it? If you have soldering skills or are up for the challenge, then yes you should be able to fix it! Here’s another post about the same problem with pictures of the charge port. Hope this helps and that you get your Kindle working again. (Read some Stephen King if you haven’t before) Good luck!

The port receptor is missing. I need a whole new port.
Wow, I haven't seen one be entirely missing before. Do you think you could post a picture of it? I found this on Amazon if you want to try to replace it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/...) I don't know if yours is the first generation or not so you'll want to make sure this is the part you need.

According to this link the Kindle Fire HD 10 is a 5th gen so perhaps the USB connector may not be the same (different mounting lug location etc) as a 1st gen model, but I'm only being cautious about that. It may be that it is the same. ;-)
Yeah, the mounting pins are going to be the main thing you need to look at. The pins will line up easily. I just checked Digikey, and they have a few styles that look like they'll work. Just compare the images. Here's a video I came across that I thought might be helpful as well.
