How can I put my iPad into recovery mode without the home button?

I had recently removed the digitizer on my iPad Air, but the device was stuck with no touch, and I wish to reset it. How could I put the device into recovery mode, but with no home button, as the connector was snapped off of the board when I replaced the digitizer at an earlier time.
