iMac not booting, reboots after login

We have a iMac EMC 2546 in repair. The iMac boots and goes into the login screen. After we enter the password the iMac tries to login but halfway through the loading bar it stops and reboots automatically. It also reboots automatically if we try to enter the Recovery mode (normal & internet) and safe mode.

We have tried a PRAM & SMC reset. Swapped the memory. And even tried another HDD and SSD. We also ran a hardware diagnostic with the D button on start up and both the short as well as the long test gave no errors.

After that we made a OSX install USB drive with Mojave. But this also automatically reboots at the end of the progress.

Is there something we are overlooking with this kind of error? Thanks in advance!

The person who this iMac belongs to got this error message (see picture) but we never got that error over here.

Restart your iMac in Target Disk Mode holding the T key.

If the system is stable lets access the systems error log. Using a second system connected via a Thunderbolt cable between them boot up your working system holding the option key, then select the other Mac’s drive to boot from. This should work and you should then be able to access the crash reports via the Console app. Copy off the last crash report and post it here as a PDF file.

Thanks for your reply. We sadly do not have any other Mac device available to try this option with. I also tried to boot the device in single user mode but this also does not work (automatically restarts)

Does the system at least stay up when you put it into Target Disk Mode? Do you see the Thunderbolt Icon floating on the screen?

At this point you'll need to try booting up using an external drive does that work?
