Mac Motherboard Fuses different colours

Does anybody know the reason that some fuses on the Mac motherboards are marked with an N and some with a P - please?

They are different devices used on a logic board: a shorting bar is not the same as a fuse.

A shorting bar (5 Amp fuse or higher) is not designed to limit the current flow whereas a fuse is!

If you remember the old screw-in fuse panels in houses had. Some people would shove a penny or other metal slug into the socket to replace the fuse as they either where overloading the circuit or just didn’t have a fuse at hand to replace the one that burnt. This is one of the causes of house fires!

So don’t cheat! You could put your self and/or your computer at risk! Use the proper fuse link where its needed and don’t use solder or use a shorting bar as a fuse! Review the schematics for the correct rating needed.
