What error is the error 4MOT/4/40000003: HDD-1340 and how can I fix it
My Mac is unable to shut down and gets stuck on a black screen, can occasionally run slowly but I’ve detected no fan issues.

We don’t have a direct guide to get to the fan here’s a guide that will get you mostly there Installing iMac Intel 27" EMC 2429 Dual Drive Kit (HDD or SSD). At Step 33 finish removing the rest of the cables making note where they go. As you need to remove the logic board completely.
