video to display not working

The built in display on this machine is now working. I can plug in an external display and it works fine. I’ve tried another display connector and that did not fix the problem. How can I determine if it is the logic board or the display? Thanks in advance. Also, it is the EMC 2834 model. MK462LL/A*
