Some of the temperatures stated in the answers are wrong and actually very dangerous!

60ºC to 90ºC = 140ºF to 194ºF is the general temperature range you need.

"100ºC" will burn you and damage the device - it is the temperature of boiling water!

"180-220C°" may cause fires, will destroy the device, and cause severe burns. They must have meant °F not °C!

Good luck and pry gently!

Yes you can.

A hot plate is usually used in the 120 or something Fahrenheit range.

Ive used my hot air gun for my brother’s.

If you hold it back a bit,it won’t expose it to the max heat. Just don’t hold it up right on the screen. I’m pretty sure your iPad has the digitizer and lcd as one piece. If you’re replacing the screen, make sure you have the lcd digitizer assembly. Use like 100 c hot air at max airflow and no nozzle. Be cautious not to overheat it. Stay at that range, and it should be fine.

The idea of answering questions should be helping others, not guessing. The fact you don't know the iPad Air has separate lcd and touch tells you never worked on one before.

I answered your question regarding temperature. I never worked on an air specifically. I said I believed the air had the digitizer and lcd fused together.

There’s no need to be an ass.

If you had worked on an iPad you would know that 100C. doesn't get you far in removing the adhesive efficiently. Temperature is way too low and before the adhesive gives up you're overheating the entire device. Avoid being offensive, you 're not at the bar and I'm not one of your friends, thank you.

Hey @arbaman, what temperature do you use on your heat pad?

tarafından

Hey @refectio , I'm not very fond of heating pads or preheaters, too little control on temperatures and I don't like to risk overheating iPad batteries and screens to just remove a glass. I don't use preheaters for small iDevices boards reworks either. For removing glass on Apple screens I set the hot air station at 180-220C° depending on room temperature and sense glass temperature by touch and feel, can't figure any better way.
