Why won’t iPhone 7 register touch with new screen?

The screen and LCD came together. The phone appears to work perfect, except now it won’t register when I touch the buttons to unlock the phone. The phone was 100% operable with the broken screen before I replaced it. I’ve never had this issue before. Could it be that I didn’t get the cables attached entirely? Hoping it’s something simple and I don’t have to send this screen back. (This is also the first time I’ve replaced a 7, all the other phones were the 6 + generation and below.) Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Did u disconnect the battery? try checking the first flex cable one closest to the battery make sure its fully seated top to bottom and restart the phone.

If u didn't disconnect the battery then try just restarting the phone.

The only way to fix this is to install the old home button because apple has made buttons on the 7/8 not work after a replacement in the previous generations you could replace a home button and get button functions and no Touch ID but in the 7/8 after a replacement there is no function at all so u need to install the previous button or get a Bluetooth home button (if this was useful can you please upvote )

I used the original home button and all the smaller components.

@kaelynnrenae You can forget about the home button, it wouldn't have any effect on your touch function; this answer doesn't make sense and has probably just misunderstood your question. As @c9679 mentioned you'd need to double check your install..the connector should get in place with a light clicking sound. If that doesn't change the picture also check the cable hasn't been teared by mistake during repair. A faulty replacement is always a possibility too.
