Option Key (ALT) always pressed even at startup with keyb unplugged!

I have a strange issue:

My Macbook Pro seems to have the OPTION key always pressed, even at startup, il boots with the partition selection screen every time, in Mac OS when I type something, strange symbol appairs instead of normal characters...

I have replaced the keyboard but same problem…

I tryed to disable OPT in the sticky keys options with no luck… so I tryed to unplug the keyboard flat cable inside the macbook and boot with an usb keyboard and it boots into partition selection screen like the OPT key is pressed.

Could be a motherboard problem?

Please help!

Probably get better advice from the more knowledgable Apple technical participants here but you may want to try cleaning the flat cable connectors with 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol to try and rule out any "bridging" effects, caused by contamination etc, between the connector's electrical contacts.

Edit: Realized rereading my comment above might be a big ambiguous; I was referring to the keyboard connector at the main circuit board side of things and not to the flat cable itself.

Let’s first go into your preferences > Startup Disk control panel. Make sure the internal drive is selected like this

Did that fix it?

Update (08/26/2019)

OK, lets do this: Open the Keyboard control panel > Input sources tab. At the bottom check the ‘Show Input in menu bar’ Once you do you should see a flag in the right hand side of the menu bar, click on it and open the ‘Show Keyboard Viewer’ You should see the keyboard keys responding as you type. Is the Option key working here?

Yeah, the boot disk is correctly selected, the problem seems to be the OPTION key has always pressed since the MAC is powered on, I have the internal keyboard flat cable disconnected but is always like the OPT key is pressed, it boots from partition selection screen… Maybe motherboar malfunction? Need an EFI update? I’m out of ideas.

Same problem to me… already replaced the keyboard… problem still remains

Did you get the correct keyboard?

I've seen single keys fail which are heavily used. As an example programers burnout the esc key from heavy use. Unless you have used the option key the only other cause is liquid damage either within the keyboard or the logic board where the keyboard connects, but in either a row or column of keys give up or are sticky!

Anyone manages to fix this?
