I just got this ps3 that works fine, but doesn’t accept any discs. So I open it up, I fix the problem so it accepts discs… But when the disc starts spinning, it doesn’t stop, it spins at full speed non stop and the disc icon doesn’t show up in the menu. Do you guys have any idea what the problem might be. thanks

You have a problem with your optical drive, so if he cannot recognize the disc then it’s probably because the laser lens is dirty, try to clean it and retry again :).

I've tried doing that but nothing changes... Should I assume that the lens is bad and replace it? Or could there be another problem?
If I didn't mistaken, the first time you got an issue to insert the disk, then you fixed it, and after that, you noticed an unusual behavior which is the full speed spin of the disk, so it means that you received the PS3 with a broken optical drive, I think you need to replace it with a new one.
