Repair of the 1.2mm posts which hold a cover on the logic board

Hi

I dropped the phone a while ago and it would not come on at all I tried a display and battery from known working iPhone 5. Took the the phone to a phone shop guy was fantastic he said be careful next time i managed to solder it to work if you drop it again it may damage it again and i may not be able to solder it. I made the mistake of not asking what and where he soldered.

So my son who inherited the phone has dropped it and law and behold it is in the exact same state. Again tried a battery and display from a known working phone.

I have stripped the phone and have noticed two post are missing on the logic board. The posts are the ones which hold a metal cover over the display connectors three screws retain this cover 2 x 1.2mm and 1 x 1.6mm . the posts which have been torn off have left two circles i have gently scrapped both of them to expose any tracks one shows a circle shaped copper within the circle.

Could anyone provide any info can i just apply solder onto it to complete a circuit or do I need to complete a track ?

Any info greatly appreciated , phone has many images and videos which we would like to recover .

I think he was referring to long screw damage on the board where the screw holes reside near the screen connectors.

That is really hard to solder to reconnect the broken traces caused by long screw damage even under a microscope so only experienced micro-solderers can repair this.

Edit: You would have to complete each broken track. The problem is knowing which one goes where as the schematics / board-view font exactly tell you which track is for which line on the board.

Hi

Just had a search on line there seems to be no mention of long screw damage for iPhone 5 however 5s , SE,6,6s &7 are.

I have found layouts for these units but am unable to find anyone mentioning long screw damage for my iPhone5.

I am not entirely certain also it is long screw damage as i did not scre in any screws in the phone shop i handed it in too perhaps but they just said we cant repair it .

it is only now i have had a chance to sit down and have a good look and as i said noticed that the two posts have been ripped of the main board.

i have found a schematic which shows them as BS1 and BS2 with BS1 having two pads ? within the circle marked as XW4 and XW6.

Thanks
