Not charging but charge icon indicates charging
Laptop status - will not charge at all or turn on (presumably because the battery is now 100% drained)
Some info:
- Prior to the problem the taskbar battery icon was the ‘charging’ one even when removing the usb-c charger
- Once had a day-long issue with the trackpad not being clickable (seems like this could have been due to a ‘swollen’ battery)
- I am using the official power brick and cable, however I was using those with a UK plug adapter purchased from eBay/China (originally bought the laptop in US)
- Battery condition was displayed as ‘Normal’ in system info, however I did used to deplete it below 5% quite frequently. Have used the laptop as a daily driver since early 2017
- Occasionally when charging the unibody would have a bit of a static / vibrating feel to touch (has anyone else experienced this?)
So what do you guys think? I have seen some people say I can attempt to disconnect and reconnect the battery, other say to go for a new battery.
I’m inclined to think the problem does not lie with the power source due to the odd behaviour on the machine when plugged / unplugged, seems the problem is internal
Thanks in advance for any help
