NVIDIA replacement options...

I've tried to get Apple to change mine but unfortunately after bringing it to an authorized support, they have told me that NVIDIA covers just until the 4th year, while my macbook pro was bought in April 2007.

I've found it on eBay, but it says compatible with some Dell... anyone knows where can I findo one to buy?

You might want to start a new question. Personally I got one back from Apple yesterday with the Nvidia issue.

I'm a brazilian customer of Apple products for aprox. 4 years when I bought my first iPod. One year after that I bought my iPhone (and it broke about one year ago) and a year later my macbook pro, just the same as Sampaio's and with the same NVIDEA issue.

Now, after 4 years boughting Apple products the only thing I have is the old iPod.

I tried to call american Apple, as told above, but no success, they simply told me that they couldn't do the recall if the error code doesn't match, even when I told how much I appreciate their machines, OS, design, employees and everything.

So, for me, the world isn't that happy when talking about apple, I'm REALLY not happy with apple. Their stuff are really expensive here in Brazil, and now turns out that it doesn't seem to work more then 3 years.

Happens that I wouldn't support work in a PC with windows, so I had to buy a mac mini, but I'm really afraid that it won't last more then 3 years again. I'm just not happy to have a new apple machine at home as I was before.

I feel very injured and I wish they could do something about it, I really think there's no more space in market for such a lapse of responsibility. Dispite the traditional 1 year warranty, good equipment (I'm talking about a macbook PRO) just shouldn't stop work in that space of time.

Not all Apple people are equal. I'm an Authorized Apple VAR but have no direct ties to Apple. The same is true for an Authorized Service Provider. They are independent. Calling Apple directly gets you to someone who has taken a course from Apple on customer service, he/she may be sitting in a cabin in the mountains of Utah. He/she gets paid on the number of calls handled. These people really have no power to do squat and are filters for actual Apple employees. They will have to put you one hold to get an actual authorization for repair. Apple just became the most powerful corporation in the USA surpassing even Exxon. Part of this is due to one of the best customer service I have ever witnessed. Talk to these folks about how great they are and how long you've been a customer and how they have a customer for life. Make them want to keep you a happy camper. I've sent in about eight machines on the Nvidia problem. The last one less than a week ago. Be nice on the phone and have a mind set that there is no question on if they will do the repair. You're calling directly because you don't care to do business with the local ASP, due to previous experience. You will be happy to pay for shipping to be able to deal directly with Apple.
