Pages flip back continually

Zero problems until yesterday! Turned on my Kindle Fire but had trouble swiping to open and put in my password. Did the restart, holding down the power button for 40 seconds as advised. Now I can open it, select a book sync to the proper page all without a problem, but when I get there the pages start flipping back without prompting and they won’t stop. The screen blinks and flips, presumably would return all the way to cover page. Any ideas?
