iPhone 3GS After Battery Replaced Problem

I've replaced the battery to my iPhone 3GS because it was getting old and after i put it all back together like its suppose to but when i pull it up to charge, the symbol is different. It looks like a plug instead of a bolt to charge and it looks like its charging but its not could it be just the dock connection? Might of damaged it while i was prying out the battery but doubt it because I've already made calls on and haven't been told that they couldn't hear me or breaking. Can someone please help as soon as possible please i really need to know.

Does it show up on itunes? If not, your usb cable may be bad. Try another usb cable if possible. Also, dock connector might be dirty or broken. Clean the dock connector. If another cable does not charge the device, replace the dock connector.

Link to new usb cable (if you can't test with other one): 30 Pin To USB

If any of these don't work, your logic board may be broken.

I had similar experience, when I replaced my old battery, the replacement battery didn't want to charge... only displayed bolt signed even after an hour charging. What I did I put my old battery back... and seems the problem solved. In my case, I am sure the replacement battery was bad.

Another step you migt want to try, before you ask or buy another battery replacement or don't wanna use your old battery, is connect your iphone to iTunes on your computer. Check whether you can see anything shown on your iphone other than bolt sign like charging...etc.

One more tip, anything you want to do with opening your iPhone front casing make sure you peel off the three connectors (1 to 3) carefully and gently...they are very fragile, expecially connector number 1... if that tiny black connector detached from its cable ribbon, it's gonna cost you more...replacing the LCD or digitizer.
