What causes these moving horizontal lines on display?

I’m assuming the issue is caused by a damaged display and that I would need to replace the display assembly to resolve the issue, but I thought I would ask about it on here to see if it might be related to something more specific. Note that the horizontal lines in the pictures are separated into 6 columns of equal width, covering the width of the display, and they are constantly jiggling around. They are mostly pink and light blue / green. The right-most column of lines is less dense. Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

Yes, your display is damaged, more precisely the T-CON board has failed. This is the thin board held in the uppercase.

Most laptop displays have it within the lid. Apple decided to be different! They placed it into the uppercase in the worse location! It tends to cook!
