My 3ds gives white screen when connecting to Wii

I have a R4i Rts 3ds card and a 16gb onn sdhc card. I am trying to connect pearl to Pokemon.Battle Revolution to give it my evee team, but when it searched, my 3ds screen turns white and doesn't do anything. I know there is questions for this on here already, and I've looked but the latest I can find is 2014 and they all said update the R4 kernel and one said that it doesn't connect. Now, I know this connects cause I've gotten the mystery gifts, and it's worked for Animal Crossing city Folks, so why won't it work for PBR and Pokemon Ranch? I could really use some help with this, I'm very confused and would like to play PBR with my evee team.

This is possible caused by Nintendo no longer supporting many features on the Wii

No, the Wii and 3ds connect wirelessly, not by wifi. And even if that was a possibility, I have homebrew on my Wii for online play so it should have connected either way. And it connects to other games, just not pokemon
