Ps3 slim turns, on then off and controller keeps blinking red lights

So I've had this ps3 slim since 2011 after the ps3 fat i used to have broke when I tried to put in a new hard drive. After getting a ps4, I left the ps3 slim in a closet since then. When I found the ps3 again I tried to run it again and first time this same issue happened, then after connecting it to different TVs and monitors I have in my household it actually worked on my PC's monitor. However, no sound came of it because no speaker was connected so I had to find the AV cable it had and a dual RCA stereo splitter cable, which I did except for the splitter cable. But then, I thought if connecting the ps3 not with the hdmi but with the av cable instead to one of my other TVs that way I would get sound. So I connected it and now this issue is happening no matter what TV or monitor its connected to. I hit the PS button on the controller it blinks red and the ps3 turns off then on and it repeats that over and over until the controller turns off after a minute. I tried hitting the tiny reset button on the back of the controller, tried a fan test, taking out and putting back in the hard drive. So if anyone would help me please do. Also sorry for a long description.
