Why does my PlayStation 4 shut off after I put it into rest mode?

I’ve had my PS4 Slim since Christmas 2018. So far, it’s operated without issue… until now. My PS4 keeps lagging, especially on games like COD or Spider-Man. When I put it on rest mode, it does two quiet clicks, and randomly shuts off. I tried initialization, but it hasn’t worked. Is there anything I can do about it?

If it feels very sluggish in the PS4 System software main menu with freezing when navigating that menu and in games and take a very long time to turn on or shut down the hard drive is faulty and needs to be replaced.

We get a lot of PS4s with the same problem at our console repair store so it’s guaranteed to be that.
